Förderung des Spitzensports
Das 1913 gegründete Deutsche Olympiade-Komitee für Reiterei kümmert sich um den Spitzenreit- und -fahrsport.
Um optimale Voraussetzungen für Spitzensportler und den talentierten Nachwuchs zur Vorbereitung auf Championate in den Disziplinen Dressur, Springen, Vielseitigkeit, Fahren, Voltigieren und Reining zu bieten, entstand am Rande der westfälischen Kreisstadt Warendorf mit dem Bundesleistungszentrum (BLZ) 1970 eine beispielhafte Trainingsstätte.
Fast alle deutschen Hochleistungs-Pferdesportler, die heute im Rampenlicht von Olympischen Spielen, Welt- und Europameisterschaften stehen, haben zum Teil längerfristig beim DOKR/BLZ trainiert.
In diesem Jahr feiert das DOKR sein 100-jähriges Bestehen.
Anlässlich des 100. Geburtstag finden im Laufe des Jahres mehrere Veranstaltungen statt, die die Erfolgsgeschichte des deutschen Spitzenpferdesports und den Stellenwert des Pferdes im Leistungsport der Öffentlichkeit präsentieren.
Die größte Veränderung in seiner Geschichte erfuhr das DOKR 1968. Im Zuge einer bundesweiten Neustrukturierung gab auch das DOKR wie alle anderen Pferdesport- und Zuchtverbände seine Eigenständigkeit auf und ging in dem neugegründeten Zentralverband Deutsche Reiterliche Vereinigung auf. Im Auftrag des Dachverbandes nimmt das DOKR/BLZ folgende Aufgaben wahr: Es wählt Reiter und Pferde für die Teilnahme an internationalen offiziellen Prüfungen, Championaten und Olympischen Spielen aus und bereitet die Paare vor.
Es beruft die Kadermitglieder, die durch die vom DOKR eingesetzten Bundestrainer sportfachlich betreut werden.
Weiter führt der Verband talentierte Nachwuchsreiter an den Hochleistungssport heran. Darüber hinaus kauft das DOKR Pferde für den Hochleistungssport an bzw. beteiligt sich finanziell beim Pferdekauf. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Sportschule der Bundeswehr betreut das DOKR Spitzensportler der Bundeswehr in der Sportförderung des Bundes.

Established in 1913, the German Olympiad Committee for Equestrian takes care of the top equestrian sports and traveling.In order to provide optimal conditions for athletes and talented youth to prepare for championships in the disciplines of Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Driving, Vaulting and Reining, was on the edge of the Westphalian county town of Warendorf with the National Training Centre (BLZ) 1970, an exemplary training facility.
Nearly all German high-horse riders, the, World and European Championships in the spotlight of the Olympic Games today have trained some of the long-term DOKR / BLZ.
This year, the DOKR celebrates its 100th anniversary.On the occasion of the 100th Birth place throughout the year instead of several events showcasing the success story of Germany's top equestrian sport and the importance of the horse in competitive sports to the public.The biggest change in its history experienced the DOKR in 1968. As part of a nationwide restructuring also DOKR was like any other sport horses and breeding associations on its independence and went on into the newly established Central Association of German Equestrian Federation. On behalf of the umbrella organization the DOKR / sort code performs the following duties: Select riders and horses to participate in official international tests, Championships and Olympic Games and prepares couples.It calls the squad members who are supervised by professional sports trainers employed by the Federal DOKR.
Next, the association leads talented young riders approached the high-performance sports. In addition, the DOKR buys horses for the high-performance sports or contribute financially when buying a horse. In cooperation with the Bundeswehr Sports School oversees the DOKR top athletes in the sports of the Bundeswehr federal funding.
